Clubhouse
The Hyannis Yacht Club is year round private club, located at 490 Ocean Street, Hyannis, Ma. Its waterfront is on Lewis Bay, which is located between Nantucket Sound and the Hyannis harbor. Entering by boat from Nantucket Sound into Lewis Bay, the Club is readily recognized by the numerous boats in the mooring field and waterfront entrance to the Club on the port side of the channel.
The club accepts full members to the Captain's Table, the lower dining area and bar, the patio and docks. Associate members are welcome to dine at the Captain's Table, the bar, and the upstairs, outdoor dining area. The Clubhouse is the club's gathering place for socializing, entertaining, meetings, and dining. The Captain's Table on the upper level offers a complete menu of fine dining, while the downstairs and patio, open to full members, serves pub favorites during most afternoons and some evenings.
Throughout the year, the Clubhouse hosts dinners and parties open to full members. The annual Commissioning of the club in spring and the installation of the new commodore in the fall are major events. Friday night dinners on the lower level and Friday night parties on the patio are popular with members. We always celebrate holidays with cookouts on the Fourth of July and dinners for all major holidays. The Clubhouse can be rented for private functions.
The Waterfront office is located at the base of the dock. The launch service and dock staff are headquartered here. Visiting yachtsmen can request a mooring or ask for launch pick-up by contacting the office on channel 69.
The Club's Youth Program gives sailing or swimming lessons to kids as young as 4-5 up to teenagers. Both children of members and non-members can learn how to swim or sail in the many levels of training offered. Check out the classes available in the Youth Program here.
In late July, the waterfront blooms with sails as the annual Regatta attracts hundreds of sailors from New England, across the US and from many countries. Races are conducted in multiple classes and the Clubhouse is the control center for the races and apre race celebrations. See the Regatta page for more.
