Each year The Club plans a 10-day annual cruise to take in various ports from Long Island to Maine. The Annual Cruise Committee selects the ports and assigns Port Captains to research the ports to find harbors, marinas, moorings, restaurants, and other amenities for the participants to enjoy. Both Sail and Powerboats participate. The cruise is open to non-members who would like to participate. For those non-members wishing to participate in the cruise, a sponsor that is participating in the cruise is desired.
This event allows for boat captains and their crew to display their navigation skills and certainly their docking skills. The end of the day is usually with some type of “get together” on the docks, at a restaurant, a boat, or sometimes on a beach.
Also, the club cruisers may select a weekend for a short trip. This is following the lead of some other boat or boats. “Follow the HYC Cruising Flag”.
