Program Overview

Brightly colored sail boat

Our program, sponsored by the Hyannis Yacht Club Foundation, introduces and develops a love of swimming and sailing for our participants.  Strong swimmers are comfortable on the water and become excellent sailors.

Our swimming program teaches the basic strokes.  We also offer the opportunity to learn to swim on a competitive swim team.  All youth program participants are required to participate in our swimming program until they have passed Basic Rescue and Water Safety.

Our sailing program introduces our participants to basic sailing skills.  Students begin in RS Quests, advancing to Optimists, 420s, ILCAs, and J22s.  After beginning sailing, our families select either the competitive or adventure sailing trac.  Competitive sailors advance into Optimists, while Adventure sailors learn in RS Quests, 420s, ILCAs and J22s.

We have two competitive teams.  Our Optimist Race Team competes in Southern MA sailing events.  Our 420 Race Team competes in regional and national events.
