One Design Racing

The Hyannis Yacht Club One Design Fleet conducts an entire Summer Series of racing events to suit all skill levels. They are open to our members and non-members alike.

We are also always on the look out for Race Committee volunteers to help with safety, setting out the race course and running the start sequence.

For 2024, One Design races will be held on Thursday nights at 6:00 pm, starting the first week in June through just before Labor Day.

One Design races will also be held on Sundays at 11:00 am, starting the first week of June through September.

2024 One Design Race Schedule

June - Thursdays: 6, 13, 20, 27

June - Sundays: 2, 9, 16, 23, 30

July - Thursdays: 11, 18, 25

July - Sundays: 7, 14, 21, 28

August - Thursdays: 1, 8, 15, 22

August - Sundays: 4, 11, 18, 26

September - Sundays: 1, 8, 15, 22, 29

*All races start at 1100

Thursday, July 4 - Trophy Race at 1000

Monday, September 2 - Labor Day Trophy Race at 1000

Sunday, October 6 - Oktoberfest

Thursday, August 29 - Bob Wright Memorial Race

The sailing area is in Lewis Bay across the channel from HYC. On Thursdays we race Lasers and J-22's. On Sundays we also race Opti's and 420s. There is an active fleet in all classes with some seasoned regulars and plenty of newcomers. Need a boat? Need crew? Get in touch, we can help. Seriously.

Awards are given monthly.
